CorrMed provided Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust with our 20 & 30 litre vaccine bag bundles to increase efficiency while they carried out Covid-19 vaccinations.
Vaccination centres have been set up across the country to help NHS trusts deliver on the mammoth task of ensuring everyone who is eligible, has access to the COVID-19 jab. As a leading medical & vaccine bag manufacturer, CorrMed has assisted various NHS trusts to deliver what they need to ensure a smooth rollout process for the vaccination in their area.
One of the biggest challenges for all NHS trusts has been distribution, how do you ensure that the vaccine is stored and transported appropriately? The CorrMed Porta Thermal Vaccine bags ensure that vaccine can be kept in cold chain (2-8°c), which has been independently tested and shown to hold cold chain for up to 9.98 hours.
One of the NHS Foundation Trusts that has been working with CorrMed is Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT). The Trust is the main provider of Community NHS health and care across Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, High Weald Lewes and Havens, and West Sussex.
Their expert teams provide essential medical, nursing and therapeutic care to adults, children and families and were the frontline for the community team during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Brighton Centre is the largest of the vaccination centres run by Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT), delivering up to 3,000 vaccinations a day during peak demand.
It opened on Monday 25 January 2021 and has been staffed by more than 150 SCFT colleagues, with support from more than 100 volunteers, every day since then. By the end of August 2021, the team has delivered over 250,000 first and second dose vaccinations at the centre.
CorrMed provided the NHS Trust with our 20 & 30 litre vaccine bag bundles which included a foldable trolley, coolant and data logger.
Lee Balcombe, Head of Operations at Brighton Vaccination Centre said,
“The bags are fantastic; they hold temperature really well and the trolley is a great addition. Buying the whole kit bundle was an excellent option saving time which was needed when setting up a Mass Vaccination site. The 17 vaccine porters are used regularly to transfer vaccines between sites and are always on stand-by to support the Business Continuity Plan if the fridges on site go down. Many thanks for the prompt delivery and excellent product.”
