‘Hand Wash Squad’: a free hand washing game for children!

Updated: Oct 9, 2020

Our Managing Director Katie Houghton has been incredibly busy during the lockdown period, using her infection protection and control knowledge to start a not for profit project. Working with GOJO Industries and GAMA Healthcare, the teams behind Purell and Clinell, the collective has developed a mobile game for 4-8 year olds, which is designed to teach them how to wash their hands effectively in a fun manner.

‘Hand Wash Squad’ was ultimately created, and is available for all as a FREE educational game for kids and a new digital resource for parents, teachers, educators.

Hand Wash Squad follows hand washing techniques recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and has received endorsement from UK Infection Prevention Society. The game has been designed to be used by children from all countries of the world as a free to download tool, available to download via android app at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tipitap.handwash&hl=en

or play via a web browser www.handwashsquad.com

The Hand Wash Squad concept is the result of a collaboration between our own MD Katie Houghton of CorrMed Ltd and Planet One Reality Ltd, Martin de Santos of Tipitap Inc, and with support of industry sponsors, GOJO Industries Inc and Gama Healthcare Ltd.

This has been a fun collaborative project between a number of companies. I hope that in some small way through creating this program we can help teachers and parents educate young children in good handwashing techniques and we can help reduce the spread of infections. It has been a tremendous team effort by us all to create this and my hope is that all infection control teams will now be able to benefit” Katie Houghton, Managing Director CorrMed Limited.
