Giving back: CorrMed raises awareness and much needed funds for emergency services charities

As a small, independent business we have always placed real value in supporting and helping others. Whether that is through the products that we provide, helping to solve a problem or through giving back via charities, we are passionate about what we do.

This year we are proud to be a main sponsor for the Coldcroft Shires Challenge.

Jamie Alcock, who runs Coldcroft Shires will be driving his two Shire horses over 600 miles from Gloucestershire to Morayshire, Scotland this summer. Jamie will be raising funds for the charities that helped support his brother for more than a decade of round-the-clock nursing care after he suffered in a life changing road traffic accident whilst returning from Royal Protection duties.

Jamie, his two Shire horses, a carriage and the farm sheepdog will begin their journey on Saturday 5 June 2021 from their farm in Gloucester and over 8 weeks, traveling 20 miles per day cover more than 600 miles to North East Scotland.

The challenge is raising money for two UK charities, Police Care UK and The Fire Fighters Charity. These independent charities both support serving and retired police officers and firefighters when they have been harmed as a result of their work, and offer free practical, emotional and financial support.

Through our work with the NHS, Emergency Medical Services and First Aiders across the country, we felt that this was the right cause for CorrMed to be involved in. We will be sharing updates of Jamie’s journey as he makes his way to Scotland. CorrMed will also be supplying a free support vehicle for the journey, safety signage for the carriage and providing our emergency medical bags for transporting the equipment and veterinary medical supplies throughout the journey.
